113th Anniversary of the Restoration of Mongolian National Freedom and Independence

On the morning of December 29, 2024, with light rain in the Washington D.C. area, members of the MBCC gathered to celebrate the day when Mongolians bravely rose to restore their National freedom and independence 113 years ago.

The Most Venerable Naichun Kuten Thupten Ngodup visted our region

His Holiness the XIV Dalai Lama’s Naichun Kuten Tvden-Oyduv Lama visited our region and spent several days bestowing initiations on the Buddhist community of D.C area. On the first day of the dharma, His Holiness granted the White Tara LongLife Empowerment initiations and blessings to many people, both Mongolian and foreign members of the D.C. area Buddhist community. On the second day of the dharma, His Holiness the Naichun Kuten conferred the Vajrakilaya blessing to devotees in the Washington, D.C. area.

Naadam

Naadam, a cherished Mongolian cultural event, symbolizes unity, competition, and nomadic heritage. It features wrestling, horse racing, and archery, bringing communities together across the Mongolian steppes for spirited traditional celebrations.

Tsagaan Sar

Mongolian New Year, or Tsagaan Sar, is a cherished celebration where we honor our ancestors, exchange well-wishes, and gather with loved ones over traditional foods to welcome the lunar new year with joy and gratitude.
